This design is to celebrate the proliferation of Linux throughout the computing world. Linux is so widely spread that it is very likely everyone uses it everyday, whether they know it or not. Linux powers about 80% of the Internet, 100% of Android devices (phones and tablets), 100% of Chromebooks, Chromecasts, Roku, and so much more.
The concept of the design has Tux blended into the background to convey the message "even if you aren't aware that Linux (Tux) is there, it (he) probably is".
